PlayStation Plus Lineup & Recommendations for August 2015

By: Jordan Binder

It's that time of the month again, folks. Anyone with a current subscription to PlayStation Plus will have access to 6 games spanning PlayStation 3, 4, and the Vita. These titles will officially release for PS+ on August 4th. This Month's Lineup is:

Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, PS4

Limbo, PS4

Sound Shapes, PS4, PS3, Vita

Stealth Inc. 2: A Game of Clones, PS4, PS3, Vita

God of War: Ascension, PS3

Castlestorm Complete Edition, PS3, Vita

While any ol' gaming website would simply list these 'free' titles, we at BinderBits would rather spare your hard drives some clutter and tell you what's worth downloading. While people have been complaining about this lineup, there are quite a few gems to be had.

Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris has been highly reviewed and well liked for it's puzzles. If you're a fan of anything and everything Lara Croft, just know this isn't your typical adventure with her. You may not enjoy it if you're going in thinking it's an adventure game.

Sound Shapes is a fantastic music-based platformer that is truly an experience everyone should try. No question about it. Well renowned artists like Deadmau5 and Beck created original work for the game!

Stealth Inc. 2: A Game of Clones, with a metascore of 80, would be a solid way to spend an afternoon. Complex level design and interesting gameplay.

God of War: Ascension is a good game and a welcomed addition to the GoW franchise. Personally, it just feels like another God of War title to me and i've been tired of these since middle school. Unless your a big fan of Kratos, skip!

Castlestorm Complete Edition is a tower defense title that draws on signature features from other acclaimed series, such as Angry Birds. If you're itching for a tower defense title and have spent 1--or 400--too many hours on Kongregate, i'd snag this title as well.

Limbo is a masterpiece of a platformer. Dark, edgy, and mysterious, this title pushes the boundaries and aesthetics of the typical side-scroller in fantastic new ways. I highly recommend it.

Overall, this lineup is very niche-oriented and puzzle-heavy. This seems to be a key reason people are upset. That being said, if any of these titles appeal to you, go for it.

I will be downloading Castlestorm, Lara Croft, Limbo and Stealth. Happy gaming!
